Ingredients
- 4 large potatoes (russet or Yukon gold)
- 2-3 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
-
Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into evenly sized
fries, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.
-
Place the cut potatoes in a large bowl of cold water and let
them soak for about 30 minutes. This helps remove excess
starch for crispier fries.
-
After soaking, drain the potatoes and pat them dry with a
clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
-
Transfer the dried potatoes to a baking sheet lined with
parchment paper or aluminum foil.
-
Drizzle olive oil over the potatoes and toss them until
evenly coated.
-
Spread the potatoes out in a single layer on the baking
sheet, making sure they're not overcrowded.
-
Sprinkle salt over the potatoes according to your
preference.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping
halfway through, until the fries are golden brown and
crispy.
-
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Enjoy your homemade French fries!
