Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80% lean)
- 4 hamburger buns
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced onions
- Pickles
- 4 slices cheese (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
-
Condiments of your choice (ketchup, mustard, mayo)
-
Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape each
into a patty, about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick. Season both sides
with salt and pepper.
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
-
Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side,
or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
-
Optional: Add a slice of cheese on top of each patty during
the last minute of cooking to melt.
-
Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until
lightly golden.
-
Assemble the burgers by placing lettuce, tomato slices,
onion slices, and pickles on the bottom half of each bun.
-
Top with the cooked burger patties and any additional
condiments of your choice.
-
Finish by placing the top half of the bun over the fillings.
-
Secure each burger with a toothpick if necessary, and serve
immediately. Enjoy your classic homemade burger!
