Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80% lean)
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Sliced onions
  • Pickles
  • 4 slices cheese (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Condiments of your choice (ketchup, mustard, mayo)
  1. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty, about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  4. Optional: Add a slice of cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
  5. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing lettuce, tomato slices, onion slices, and pickles on the bottom half of each bun.
  7. Top with the cooked burger patties and any additional condiments of your choice.
  8. Finish by placing the top half of the bun over the fillings.
  9. Secure each burger with a toothpick if necessary, and serve immediately. Enjoy your classic homemade burger!

Better than any fast-food burger! Made these for a BBQ and everyone raved about them. Will definitely make again!
